Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. The songs of DiFranco are classified as folk or alternative rock. However, they also are influenced by hip-hop, jazz and punk. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Both her parents were both of Montreal descent. Her song 32 Flavors was written by her and sung by Ani. The track is part of her album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth studio album. The song appears on the movie soundtrack of 1999's Canadian love story Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologised in 2013 when it was announced that she was planning to hold a three day workshop at a Louisiana slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco offered a second apology several days after. She is known for her Little Folksinger music, but she's worked with many artists and genres that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer hails from New Orleans. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. When she was 14, she started to write her own music. She performed them at coffee shops and bars throughout her teens. DiFranco was a graduate of the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school in the year 16 and began attending classes at Buffalo State College.
